Is this the one I saw on TV?
Yes! There’s only ONE OrbiTrek, and as long as it says Thane Fitness, you know you've got the right one!
Do I have to be in great shape already to use the OrbiTrek?
No. The OrbiTrek can be used at all levels of fitness whether you’re a beginner or elite athlete. Even if you haven’t exercised in years, The OrbiTrek lets you start out slow and build up your fitness level. And once you've achieved your ideal fitness level, you'll have the most natural, no-impact, enjoyable way of staying in shape available anywhere right there in your own home!
How much time do I have to spend on the The OrbiTrek to get results?
We recommend a 20-minute workout, 4 times a week for optimum results. This will dramatically tone and firm all your major muscle groups, while giving you the aerobic workout doctors recommend for total cardiovascular health. For best results you must also follow a sensible eating plan.
Will I feel exhausted from the workout?
If you stay within your training heart rate, no, you should not. In fact, most people who use The OrbiTrek report feeling as though they aren't working nearly as hard to burn the same amount of calories as they do on a treadmill.
How do I determine my Training Heart Rate?
When working out, spend the first 5 minutes warming up (or longer, if you haven’t exercised in a while). After 5 minutes, take your pulse for 10 seconds and then multiply that number by 6 – that will give you your heart rate.
The following table will help you find your training heart rate range:
| AGE RANGE |
70% to 80% |
AGE RANGE |
70% to 80% |
| 20 – 24 |
137 – 170 |

If you are in your training heart rate, maintain that level of intensity. If you are below your training heart rate, you need to increase your intensity. If you are above your training heart rate, you need to slow down until you get in your training heart rate range.Check your pulse every 8 minutes to make sure you stay in your training heart rate range.
How much does the machine weigh?
Only 53 pounds, and it’s just 37 inches long. Its attached wheels make it easy to move from room to room.
Can I watch TV while I work out?
Of course! The OrbiTrek's silent operation lets you watch television, talk on the phone, listen to music or audiotapes, or do any other activity you might do on a stationary bike or other exerciser.
What if I don't feel up to getting an upper-body workout, and I just want to exercise my legs?
That’s one of the features that makes The OrbiTrek unique. Its arm bars have two positions: Workout and Stationary. You can involve your upper body or not, depending on how you feel. On most other machines, the arms are either fixed, or they move at all times – you don’t have a choice.
I’ve had knee surgery – can I use The OrbiTrek machine?
Of course, you must consult your physician before beginning any exercise routine. Because of its 'no-impact' design, many people have found The OrbiTrek to be extremely helpful when recovering from joint surgery. It makes it easy to get an aerobic workout without the jarring effect of a treadmill.
How old do you have to be to use the The OrbiTrek?
It’s not so much a function of age rather than size. You should be at least 48 inches tall to exercise on The OrbiTrek. That means kids and teens can also use The OrbiTrek to achieve their fitness goals. Please note: It is recommended that shorter people exercise with the arms in the stationary position.
How long does it take to assemble the The OrbiTrek?
Between half an hour and an hour – it comes with easy-to-follow assembly instructions.
Can a heavy person use it safely?
The OrbiTrek is designed to hold up to 300 pounds safely and effectively.
